FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is a survival horror game developed and published by Tecmo for the PlayStation 2 in 2001 and now re-released for PC. In the game, the player controls the protagonist, a young Japanese woman named Mio Amakura who travels to the island of Ogasawara in search of her twin brother Mafuyu. But when Mio and her friend Maya arrive on the island, they find that all the inhabitants have disappeared and there is a strange atmosphere on the island. Soon Mio learns that strange and terrible events are taking place on the island, associated with the legend of the Moon Mask - an ancient mask that is said to give its owner great power and immortality, but only at the cost of the lives of other people. Mio soon learns that Mafuyu has disappeared along with the other inhabitants of the island, who were sacrificed to perform a bloody ritual related to the Mask of the Moon. One of the main features of the game is the mechanics of use "Spirit Chambers". The Spirit Chamber is a special device that allows Mio to see the spirits that live on the island. The player must take pictures of the spirits with the camera to damage them and weaken them before they can attack Mio. You can also use the Spirit Camera to solve puzzles and find hidden objects.
