Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is a third-person action RPG in which you control adventurer Adol Christian, who has gone on an adventure, along with his companion Dogi. After he stays in Balduk, which is under the occupation of the Romun Empire, he is imprisoned. Subsequently, the hero is met by a brooding stranger, who turns him into a Monstrum, thanks to which he gains supernatural power.
